Arranging Your Travel

After booking tours with Provence Escapes, many guests ask us for information to help them make additional travel arrangements – everything from booking a train to the Avignon TGV Station where we meet guests to hotels in Paris and Avignon, car rentals and travel insurance. Here are some travel resources that we recommend.

Making TGV Train Reservations

TGV Booking Center
If you're traveling from Paris or Marseille to Avignon where we meet you at the TGV Station, we recommend reserving the TGV (high speed) train through RailEurope. Please note, trains cannot be booked until 60 to 90 days prior to departure.

Car Rentals

AutoEurope
Looking to rent a car for a pre- or post-tour trip? We use AutoEurope for the best rates in Europe.

Travel Insurance

Travel Guard
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance which covers trip cancellations, interruptions and lost or stolen baggage. Travel Guard is the company we use.

Medical Evacuation Insurance

Medjet Assist
Medjet is a highly regarded medical evacuation insurance company. There are no transportation cost limitations and no pre-existing condition exclusions.

U.S. Hotels

Quikbook
Quikbook offers discount rates on select hotels in the U.S., Canada and Carribean. And there are no booking or cancellation fees.

Paris Hotels

Luxury Category
Meurice Hotel
Known as the hotel of kings (Queen Victoria and Duke and Duchess of Windsor were regulars.) Silk-laden Louis XVI rooms. Across from the Tuilleries/Louvre, this is a favorite although at $1000 a night, it's reserved only for a very special occasion. If nothing else, go for a drink at their wonderful lobby lounge.
